OBS

Founded in 1973 at Addis Ababa, Ethiopia through the unification of the ALL-African Trade Union Federation (AATUF), the African Trade Union Confederation (ATUC), and the Pan-African Workers' Congress, the OATUU is a specialized agency of the Organization of African Unity (OAU). The organization remains unaffiliated to any international trade union confederation, but maintains fraternal relations with trade union organizations worldwide. The OATUU holds consultative status with the ILO, the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), UNESCO, and the FAO.
