The Sectoral Initiatives Program (SIP) is a grants and contributions program, which helps key sectors of the economy. The SIP supports sectors in identifying, forecasting and addressing their human resources and skills issues. The Program provides funding to stakeholders to develop and distribute: sector-specific labour market intelligence; national occupational standards; skills certification and accreditation systems; new workforce development methods and solutions. Le Programme d'appui aux initiatives sectorielles (PAIS) est un programme de subventions et de contributions qui aide les secteurs clés de l'économie. Le PAIS soutient les secteurs dans l'identification, la prévision et la résolution de leurs problèmes en matière de ressources humaines et de compétences. Le Programme fournit des fonds aux intervenants pour élaborer et distribuer : de l'information sur le marché du travail propre au secteur; des normes professionnelles nationales; des systèmes de reconnaissance des compétences et d'accréditation; de nouvelles méthodes et solutions de perfectionnement de la main-d'œuvre. The Industrial and Scientific Assignment Program promotes the transfer of technology or technical knowledge to or from the Department, industry, other levels of government and academic institutions in Canada and abroad. The program involves the loan for fixed terms of scientific, professional and technical personnel between NRCan and other levels of government, industry and academia.
