déroulage : Action de découper le bois d'une bille en placage en la plaçant sur un grand tour et en la soumettant à l'action d'un couteau; pendant que la bille tourne, le tranchant avance à une vitesse constante, il entre en contact avec la bille de façon tangentielle et avance constamment jusqu'aux mandrins qui supportent la bille; le bois de la bille est ainsi transformé en un immense ruban.
