La fibre de polypropylène est une fibre d'oléfine fabriquée à partir de polymères et de copolymères de propylène. La fibre de polypropylène est obtenue par le filage en fusion du polymère. De minime densité, elle peut flotter. C'est une fibre très résistante et est utilisée dans de nombreuses applications textiles (tissus à velours, tissus méchés, sous-vêtements, vêtements de sport, tapis, etc.). Elle est aussi employée dans le domaine industriel (film pour emballage, tissu pour filtres, vêtements de protection, etc.).
