Système normalisé de l'IATA [Association du transport aérien international] pour la structure et la syntaxe des messages destinés à être échangés entre les transporteurs aériens et les administrations douanières. L'IATA prévoit d'offrir à long terme un moyen de conversion du système CARGO-IMP au système EDIFACT [Échange de données informatisées pour l'administration, le commerce et le transport] adopté comme norme de l'ISO [Organisation internationale de normalisation]. Il peut être utilisé pour l'échange de données avec d'autres utilisateurs (entre la douane et les transporteurs maritimes ou entre les transporteurs aériens et les transitaires). On s'attend à ce qu'il permette de réduire considérablement le temps consacré au congé du fret aérien.
