Since the creation of the RCM [Regional Conference on Migration], also known as the "Puebla Process," in Puebla Mexico in 1996, officials from Belize, Canada, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama and the United States, as well as observers from international organizations and civil society, meet on a yearly basis to discuss migration issues of common concern.

La Conferencia Regional sobre Migración (CRM), también conocida como Proceso Puebla, se creó en febrero de 1996 en ocasión de la Cumbre Presidencial Tuxtla II. Por lo tanto, en 2016, la CRM cumple 20 años de coordinar políticas y promover la cooperación sobre migración entre sus once Países Miembros: Belice, Canadá, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Estados Unidos, Guatemala, Honduras, México, Nicaragua, Panamá y República Dominicana.

OBS

Los objetivos de la CRM son: Crear un foro para la discusión abierta de temas migratorios regionales y el intercambio de información y experiencias para alcanzar mayor coordinación y cooperación en la región. Unirse para proteger los derechos humanos de los migrantes y crear una red de leyes migratorias coherentes y adecuadas, además de reforzar los vínculos entre migración y desarrollo.
