Regression-nested Procedure. As can be seen from Table 1, the population estimates as of June 1, 1982 are the regression estimates, but for other years 1983 to 1986 they are obtained by adding the change in the regression estimates to the second set of the population estimates (obtained by the component procedure) for the preceding year.
