La résonance gamma nucléaire ou spectrométrie Mössbauer (SM) utilise la possibilité d’observer dans les solides l’absorption résonnante sans recul de photons [gamma].

OBS

Cette méthode repose sur le phénomène de résonance gamma nucléaire entre une source radioactive et des noyaux cibles. Elle apporte des informations précieuses sur l'environnement chimique de certains isotopes ayant une faible différence d'énergie entre leur état excité et leur état fondamental [inférieur à] 100 keV [kiloélectronvolt]). Environ cinquante noyaux répondent à cette condition. Les plus utilisés sont57Ge et119Sn.
