Rexdale Women's Centre is an independent, not-for-profit, voluntary agency that serves high-need women and their families, residing in the Greater Toronto Area of Canada.

[The centre's] mission is to support immigrant, newcomer and refugee women, and their family members of all generations to become fully participating members of Canadian Society who are self-sufficient, financially secure, safe, happy, healthy and socially active. They accomplish this by enhancing [their] client's individual functioning skills and by facilitating their access to resources, agencies, and community services.

L'expédition «Autour du monde», entreprise dans le but de réunir des fonds pour la recherche d'un traitement des lésions de la moelle épinière, est revenue au Canada lorsque le quadriplégique canadien Mike Nemesvary a franchi le 49e parallèle sous la Peace Arch internationale, au sud de Vancouver. Le parrainage d'entreprises, Pfizer Canada Inc. en tête, a rendu possible l'expédition «Autour du monde». «Nous souhaitons que notre engagement à l'égard de l'incroyable périple de Mike incite d'autres entreprises et d'autres personnes au Canada à appuyer la recherche sur les lésions de la moelle épinière», déclare M. Jean-Michel Halfon, président et chef de la direction de Pfizer Canada. Parmi les autres parraineurs, mentionnons We Care Home Health Services, Minto Developments Inc. et le gouvernement du Canada. Les sommes recueillies grâce à l'expédition «Autour du monde» seront gérées conjointement avec l'Association canadienne des paraplégiques.
