subboreal; sub-boreal: La Fundación del Español Urgente (Fundéu BBVA), con el asesoramiento de la Real Academia Española, indica que se escribe "subboreal", no "suboreal" [...] De acuerdo con la Ortografía de la lengua española, también se mantiene la doble b en los casos en los que el prefijo sub- se une a un término cuya primera letra es otra b, excepto en las voces asentadas "subranquial" y "subrigadier", en las que sí se ha simplificado la doble consonante. Se recuerda que no es apropiado el uso del guion (como "sub-bético", "sub-boreal" o "sub-base") pues, como norma general, los prefijos que se aplican a una palabra han de ir unidos a ella. 1, record 1, Spanish, - subboreal
