Les dix quilles, en érable ou en chêne, de 38 cm de hauteur, sont disposées en triangle au bout d'une allée en bois dur de 25,50 m de long sur 1,85 m de large, et il faut les renverser avec deux boules en bois de gaïac, de 18 à 23 cm de diamètre, qu'on lance en les faisant rouler. Chaque quille abattue vaut un point; l'abattage des dix quilles avec les deux boules compte pour un honneur simple; avec une seule boule, il vaut un honneur double. La partie se fait en dix reprises.
