Traditional knowledge refers to the knowledge, innovations and practices of indigenous and local communities around the world. Developed from experience gained over the centuries and adapted to the local culture and environment, traditional knowledge is transmitted orally from generation to generation. It tends to be collectively owned and takes the form of stories, songs, folklore, proverbs, cultural values, beliefs, rituals, community laws, local language, and agricultural practices, including the development of plant species and animal breeds. Traditional knowledge is mainly of a practical nature, particularly in such fields as agriculture, fisheries, health, horticulture, and forestry.

The degree of warmth or coolness of a light source associated with its colour, expressed in kelvins.

Basically, colour temperature describes the colour appearance of a light source. Sources with low colour temperature (below 3000 K) are described as "warm," and lean towards the red side of the spectrum. High colour temperature sources (above 4 000 K) are more bluish and are described as "cool".

chromaticity: More recently, the term "chromaticity" has been used in place of color temperature. Chromaticity is expressed either in Kelvins (K) or as "x" and "y" coordinates on the CIE Standard Chromaticity Diagram.

Deux paramètres indépendants servent à décrire la couleur des sources lumineuses : la température de couleur (ou la température de couleur proximale, dans le cas des lampes fluorescentes) et l'indice de rendu des couleurs. La température de couleur est utilisée dans le cas des radiateurs à haute sélectivité, comme les lampes à décharge électrique, lorsque la lumière du radiateur a environ les mêmes coordonnées de chromaticité qu'un corps noir à une température donnée.
