The National Literacy Secretariat (NLS) of Human Resources Development Canada and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) announced today the launch of Valuing Literacy in Canada, a new joint initiative to fund strategic research into adult literacy issues. The two organizations will contribute equal shares for a total investment of $2.5 million over five years to stimulate applied research aimed at providing policy-makers and practitioners with leading-edge knowledge in the area of literacy.

Le Secrétariat national à l'alphabétisation (SNA) de Développement des ressources humaines Canada et le Conseil de recherches en sciences humaines du Canada (CRSH) ont annoncé aujourd'hui le lancement de Valoriser l'alphabétisme au Canada, une initiative conjointe dont le but est de financer la recherche stratégique sur des questions liées à l'alphabétisation des adultes. Les deux organismes proposent un investissement total de 2,5 millions de dollars sur cinq ans, partagé également, afin de stimuler des recherches appliquées visant à transmettre aux décideurs et aux intervenants des connaissances de pointe dans le domaine de l'alphabétisation.
