Il convient de citer [...] les expériences qui essaient de combiner le rayonnement solaire et le vent : ainsi, par exemple, les «cheminées à vent», avec une haute tour au milieu d'un vaste champ continu de serres. Du fait du rayonnement solaire qui chauffe l'air sous la serre et par l'effet «cheminée» par lequel l'air chaud monte à l'intérieur d'une tour creuse, un courant de vent se crée à l'intérieur de la cheminée. Ce vent peut être converti en énergie utile par une turbine montée en haut de la tour.
