The Sidney Lanier Bridge. Wind Stability. ... As construction progressed, the deck required wind stability stays as well as the tower. Special anchorage points were built in the river for the tie-downs and an array of cables was installed up to the deck. At the top of the tower the wind stability cables come in from the back and ahead sides of the tower.
