Simulacros basados en discusión: Simulacros de mesa. Un simulacro de mesa (tabletop exercise, TTX) involucra la participación de un personal de alto nivel, funcionarios elegidos o designados, u otro personal clave, en una discusión grupal informal que se centra en un escenario hipotético. [...] El propósito de un TTX es probar los planes, las políticas o los procedimientos existentes sin incurrir en los costos asociados con la distribución de recursos. Un TTX también permite a los participantes trabajar detenidamente en un problema, sin sentir tanta presión como la que sentirían en un simulacro basado en operaciones.
