Biosparging is an in-situ remediation technology that uses indigenous microorganisms to biodegrade organic constituents in the saturated zone. In biosparging, air(or oxygen) and nutrients(if needed) are injected into the saturated zone to increase the biological activity of the indigenous microorganisms. Biosparging can be used to reduce concentrations of petroleum constituents that are dissolved in groundwater, adsorbed to soil below the water table, and within the capillary fringe.

Dynamic adsorption. The most common mode of adsorptive separation process employs a fixed bed, cyclic operation. As the wet process stream enters the fresh molecular-sieve bed, the water vapor is adsorbed in a finite length of bed called a mass-transfer zone(MTZ), the bed length through which the concentration of the adsorbate is reduced from essentially inlet to outlet conditions. As wet gas continues to flow, the bed may be divided into three distinct zones; the dynamic equilibrium zone with inlet gas, the MTZ, and the remaining active zone. In most molecular-adsorption systems, the MTZ becomes stabilized because of its favorable isotherm and moves at a constant speed. The bed is exhausted when the leading edge of the MTZ reaches the outlet end of the bed. High effective capacity results from high dynamic equilibrium capacity and a short MTZ.

Preparation of bleach chemicals. All conventional bleaching chemicals can be produced from air, water and brine(NaCl solution) utilizing varying amounts of energy. Since the raw materials are cheap, it follows that manufacturing costs are mainly a function of how much energy is expended. Oxygen. Two systems are utilized for oxygen generation : cryogenic air separation and absorption-based separation.... The adsorption-based oxygen plant yields a gas product and is suitable only for onsite generation.... adsorption systems separate air at ambient temperatures using molecular sieve adsorbents. The adsorbent picks up nitrogen and other impurities at the system feed pressure, while the product oxygen passes straight through the bed. After the bed is saturated with nitrogen, it is regenerated by lowering the pressure to release the adsorbed components. Adsorption processes are cyclical, and multiple beds are used to maintain continuous oxygen production.
