In measurement of non-faradaic admittance(or tensammetry), a plot of alternating current against applied potential shows a minimum or maximum when a non-electroactive substance undegoes adsorption or desorption at the surface of the indicator electrode. Such a maximum or minimum may be called an apex to emphasize its non-faradaic origin and distinguish it from a "summit", which would result from a charge-transfer process. The highest value of the current on such an apex may be called an apex current, and the corresponding applied potential may be called an apex potential. 1, record 5, English, - apex%20current

1, record 5, French, - courant%20apex

Semiconductive Thin Film Detector. Using the known principle that the adsorption and desorption of gases cause a change in electrical conductivity of semiconductors, Seiyama et al. developed a new chromatographic detector for gaseous components.... The current, depending upon the resistance of the film, is converted to voltage by the variable resistance, which is fed without amplification to a recorder. Resistance also adjusts the input voltage of the recorder at desired sensitivity. Using zinc oxide as an example of a typical film material, the conductivity of its film maintains a fixed value when the nitrogen carrier gas is passed at a constant flow rate throught the borosilicate glass tube. When a small amount of another gas or vapor is added to the carrier gas, its conductivity is changed. 1, record 8, English, - semiconductive%20thin%20film%20detector
