3, record 2, French, - fus%C3%A9e

A flexible tubing used in an aircraft plumbing system to allow relative movement between hose ends. 2, record 4, English, - flexible%20hose
Record number: 4, Textual support number: 1 OBS
Because of the need for flexibility in many areas of aerospace vehicle construction, it is often necessary to employ hose instead of rigid tubing for the transmission of fluids and gases under pressure. Specifications for hose to be used in aerospace vehicle systems are given in the Air Force-Navy Aeronautical Design Standard(AND) 10340. This specification covers hoses for fuel, oil, hydraulic, pneumatic, and other systems. Hose and hose assemblies for aircraft plumbing systems are manufactured in four different pressure categories : low-pressure, with a maximum operating pressure of 300 psi [2068 kPa] ;medium-pressure(300 to 1500 psi) [2068 to 10 342 kPa] ;high pressure(1500 to 3000 psi) [10 342 to 20 685 kPa] ;and extra-high-pressure(3000 to 6000 psi) [20 865 to 41 370 kPa]. It must be noted that the pressure ranges given above are general and that variations will be encountered in specific systems and installations. Hose assemblies are usually pressure-tested at a pressure at least twice the maximum operating pressure. The burst pressure is usually required to be at least four times the maximum operating pressure. Thus a good margin of safety is provided. 3, record 4, English, - flexible%20hose

Record number: 5, Textual support number: 1 CONT

3, record 5, Spanish, - trueno

The ultimate in sizing treatments is achieved by tub sizing. Here the sheet is run through a shallow bath containing a solution of starch and other additives, and the excess solution is removed by passing the sheet through a light nip. Initial drying of the sized sheet is usually accomplished by hot air impingement to avoid disturbing the size film. In tub sizing, the objective is not only to improve surface properties, but also to impregnate the sheet sufficiently to improve such properties as ply bond, burst, stiffness and tensile strength. Tub sizing is sometimes carried out on-machine, but better results are obtained with an off-machine operation. 1, record 11, English, - tub%20sizing

Tom's first form of catastrophe is simply called the "fold". Consider a balloon being blown up by someone at a party. The control variable in this change is air pressure, because reducing or increasing air pressure alters the balloon's dynamics. As the air pressure in the balloon increases, the system approaches the edge of the catastrophe fold. If pushed too far it falls over the fold-into oblivion. After passing through its "fold catastrophe", the balloon burst and the system no longer exists. 2, record 12, English, - catastrophe

2, record 12, French, - catastrophe

When pressure is reduced in the brake pipe by air exhausting to atmosphere(through an open valve), the higher pressure from the auxiliary reservoirs causes the control valve on each car to admit air under pressure to the brake cylinders to apply the brake shoes to the wheels with the help of rods and levers. The same result is automatically obtained in emergency when air is accidentally released by a broken pipe or burst hose. 2, record 17, English, - application
