On February 1, 1997, the Canadian Airline Pilots Association(CALPA) merged with the Air Line Pilots Association, International(ALPA) and became ALPA Canada. ALPA is now the parent organization. The ICPTF has been working for several years to establish a common US/Europe/Canada approach to the certification basis of derivative aircraft. Through his union, the Air Canada Pilots Association(ACPA), Mr. also filed a grievance in the Spring of 2003 in which he sought grounded retirement.
