A compound that can be shaped by a moulding process.

Combinations of resins, fillers and reinforcement in a form suitable for processing by injection, transfer and compression are called moulding compounds. The materials may be granular, powders, sheets or doughs, according to both the constraints of manufacture and the intended application. Compounds based on thermoplastics resins are generally either granules or powders, while the form of those based on thermosetting resins is resin-specific.

A gas burner in which the gas is delivered from the side(s) of the combustion chamber, resulting in a horizontal flame.

Inshot burners have become the dominant burner in North American residential gas furnaces, according to the American Gas Association. The burners have a single port, and fire into a pipelike heat exchanger. They differ markedly from older designs that had multiple burner ports with two-part heat exchangers, known as clamshells. Inshot burners have resulted in smaller furnace cabinets, a handy feature when remodeling a basement.

Baseboard heat-distributing units are divided into two types : radiant-convector and finned tube. The radiant-convector-type baseboard is made of cast iron or steel. The units are provided with air openings at the top and bottom to permit circulation of room air over the wall side of the unit. The wall side of the unit has extended surface to provide increased heat output. A large portion of the heat emitted is transferred by convection.
