AIR COLLECTING CHAMBER [3 records]

Record 1 2015-04-22

English

Subject field(s)
  • Scientific Instruments
  • Environmental Studies and Analyses
CONT

Collecting odour samples released by static piles of materials(e. g., incoming feedstock, composting windrows, and product stockpiles) as a result of ambient air sweeping across their surface is challenging. Normally, a flux chamber is used in this situation in accordance with United Stated Environmental Protection Agency sampling protocols.

CONT

Subject field(s)
  • Equipment and Tools (Water Supply)
CONT

The float keeps the tank water and air separated, one from the other, controlling air absorption into the water. Also the float has a wiping edge which prevents air absorbing water from collecting on the tank wall in the air chamber, as the float lowers.

OBS

Float-type pressure tank.

CONT

Le séparateur placé entre l'air et l'eau limite la dissolution de l'air dans l'eau. Doté d'un segment racleur, le séparateur évite que de l'eau demeure sur les parois du réservoir dans le compartiment qui renferme l'air.

OBS

Réservoir hydropneumatique du type à séparateur.

DEF

Equipment to control air pollution by collecting the pollutants. These include gravity settling chambers, inertial separators, cyclonic separators, filters, electrical precipitators, scrubbers(spray towers, jet scrubbers, Venturi scrubbers, inertial scrubbers, mechanical scrubbers, and packed scrubbers). Control equipment used for gases, vapors, and odors includes combustion, absorption, and adsorption units. Incineration equipment with a single combustion chamber is generally used for the combustion processes. Absorption equipment includes spray chambers, mechanical contactors, bubble cap or sieve plate contactors, and packed towers. Adsorption equipment includes packed beds, and sometimes fluidized beds.

OBS

Compare with "pollution control emission".

OBS

The term "emission" is generally used in regard to discharges into the atmosphere, it could also be used but rarely for water effluent.
