Peroxide Forming Chemicals. Materials that are susceptible to peroxide formation(i. e., autooxidation) are ones that typically react with air, moisture or impurities and produce a change in their chemical composition in normal storage. The peroxides that form are less volatile than the solvent itself and thus tend to concentrate. This is particularly dangerous if peroxides are present during a distillation, where the applied heat to the concentrated solution may trigger a violent explosion. Equally dangerous is to allow a container of this material to evaporate to dryness, leaving the crystals of peroxide at the bottom of the container.

Charging electrodes near the surface impart an electrical charge to the powder. Electrically grounded workpieces pass over the surface of the bed and collect a coating of powder. The coating is then cured in a baking oven. There are techniques for applying dry powder coatings without the use of electrostatics.... These processes typically involve preheating the workpiece to a temperature substantially above the melting point of the powder and then applying the powder, either by dipping the workpiece into a fluidized bed or by spraying air-suspended powder directly onto the hot surface of the workpiece. The powder melts immediately upon contact and flows to form a film, which is subsequently cured in a bake oven.

An egg sponge is a lightly aerated mixture produced by whisking air into eggs and sugar till a stiff foam is produced, then lightly blending in the flour, etc. In best quality goods no baking powder is used, the whole of the aeration being mechanically produced by whisking. To speed up the process, pressure whisks are now used in which the mixing takes place in a gas-tight container. Air under pressure is forced into the ingredients whilst they are being whisked, hence the individual air bubbles in the sponge are themselves under pressure.

A liquid filling technique by which containers are filled in a low vacuum atmosphere.

OBS

It requires a seal on the container and fills the container(usually a bottle) to a predetermined level. The purpose of the low vacuum atmosphere is first to eliminate overflow and recirculation which are inherent in a pure vacuum filler, and to avoid filling a cracked or chipped-neck bottle. If a vacuum is not established in container, it will not fill; also prevents drip.... As in a gravity filler, level is established in the bottle when the vent port through which the air in the bottle escapes, is closed by the rising liquid.
