The mixing damper controls flow from the left inlet branch as a percentage of the mixed-air flow, subject to a preset minimum. The minimum can be scheduled or modulated by a time-switch profile in the damper component dialog. A controller then modulates flow from the left branch vs. bottom branch as a percentage of the outlet flow rate or in an attempt to achieve a target mixed-air temperature. Typical applications include outside air economizers, demand-controlled ventilation, and bypass dampers for heat-recovery, indirect evaporative cooling, heat pipes, coils with high static pressure, or similar components within an air handler. 1, record 1, English, - mixing%20damper

The compartmented bag collector(Figure 12) is used with either reverse air flow or shaker type bag cleaning. This type of collector is divided into several compartments, each with its own damper and bag cleaning system. One compartment at a time can be taken out of service to release the dust from the bags into the bottom hopper. 1, record 30, English, - compartmented%20bag%20collector

A vacuum override motor is connected to the flap inside the snorkel of some thermostatically controlled damper flap units. When a cold engine is accelerating, the vacuum diaphragm overrides the thermostat control to open the damper flap. This allows outside air as well as heated air to enter the system. 2, record 32, English, - vacuum%20override%20motor

Forced Air Wood Furnaces. Central wood-burning furnaces are controlled by a wall mounted thermostat in the living area. Temperature and fan controls are the same as those found on oil and gas furnaces. Unlike room heaters, which produce a steady heat output by periodic manual adjustments of the draft control, most wood furnaces operate in cycles. A cycle starts with the thermostat sensing that heat is needed in the room where it is located. It signals the furnace control system which opens the combustion air damper and a hot fire develops. When the air inside the furnace's sheet metal casing gets hot, a preset fan control starts the circulating blower and the warm air is moved through the ducts to all areas of the house. 1, record 33, English, - forced%20air%20wood%20furnace

With conventional gas furnaces, little can be done to prevent losses of heated house air up the chimney when the furnace is firing. What can be prevented, though, is the loss that occurs when the furnace is not firing. A positive vent damper consists of a tight-fitting hinged damper door mounted in a steel collar and fitted into the flue pipe just before the pipe enters the chimney base. A fail-safe interlock switch prevents the furnace from firing unless the damper is completely open. This device may also be used with propane furnace. 1, record 34, English, - positive%20vent%20damper
