Simple vacuum-packaging machines, suited to less developed regions, are available. They consist of a chamber with a removable lid, so that the plastic pouch or bag containing the product can be placed inside the chamber, which is evacuated with an electrically driven vacuum pump. By closing the lid, air can be drawn out of the chamber and also out of the open bag. While still in the vacuum chamber, the bag is hermetically closed by heat sealing by means of a manual or automatic electrically heated sealing device. 1, record 1, English, - vacuum%20chamber

1, record 3, Spanish, - c%C3%A1psula%20supers%C3%B3nica

These devices produce both vapor and finely dispersed water droplets in the liquid phase(aerosol mist) ;they are typically used with a mask or tent or in a breathing circuit. Gearing a compressor directly to the engine is a wonderfully simple system. You don’t have to worry about compressing the air too much [term : over-boost] because the amount of pressure boost is directly proportional to engine speed, and therefore limited by the engine speed. Since the compressor is attached to the engine it is easy to deliver oil to the shaft that the compressor spins on. Another advantage of the gear driven supercharger is that some engine configurations,(mainly a radial engine) allow placement of the compressor in compact space. 2, record 18, English, - gear%2Ddriven%20supercharger

Therefore, when the APU is working and providing pressurized air to the pneumatic systems, ADP's may provide pressure to the hydraulic systems. Depth hoar [are] large coarse recrystallized grains of snow that are the end result of the faceting or squaring process within the snowpack, a process driven by temperature gradients. Such crystals are often weak and develop as a result of(locally) strong temperature gradients and resulting vapor pressure differences in the snowpack, especially in shallow snowpacks with cold air temperatures. These grains are formed through re-crystallization of existing snow grains as water vapor is transferred(sublimation and deposition) from warmer regions of higher vapor pressure(near the ground) to colder regions with lower vapor pressure(upper layers closer to the snow surface). 6, record 21, English, - depth%20hoar

The prevailing winds in Sydney area are a combination of synoptic(pressure driven) flows and meso-scale(local) flows. The synoptic conditions are dominated by high pressure systems, moving air in a clockwise direction across Australia, from west to east, with an average period of six to seven days. In summer these high pressure systems are located to the south of Sydney, resulting in onshore synoptic winds. In winter these synoptic pressure systems shift north, following the movement of the sun to the northern hemisphere, resulting in westerly synoptic winds. The winter westerly winds have the greatest number of days when wind speeds exceed 40kph(Linacre, 1997). 1, record 39, English, - synoptic%20wind

3, record 39, French, - vent%20synoptique

A supercharger which is located between the carburetor outlet and the intake manifold of the engine is called an internal supercharger. A supercharger thus located serves to provide a uniform distribution of the fuel-air charge to the various cylinders, as well as to increase the density of the charge. Maintaining a high manifold pressure ahead of the intake valves allows the use of "valve overlap" in the engine, so that the intake valve opens just before the exhaust valve closes at the end of the exhaust stroke. This allows the compressed mixture from the intake manifold to scavenge the spent gases out of the clearance volume of the cylinder and also tends to improve the cooling of the exhaust valve. This cooling is of particular importance when operating at "military" or "take-off" power. With no supercharging between the carburetor and the intake valves, "valve overlapping" would permit exhaust gases to flow back into the intake manifold. This would cause backfiring and dilution of the next charge of mixture with burned exhaust gases. 4, record 40, English, - internal%20supercharger

Aircraft Rivets.... For dimpling heavier skins or skins of some of the harder alloys, such as 7075, hot dimpling may be used. This is usually done in the [coin dimpling] manner.... The dies are held in a special squeezer that allows electrical current to flow through the sheet for an accurately measured period of time. This current causes the metal immediately around the dies to heat up, and then air pressure is applied to force the dies together. Rather than the male die being driven into the female, the female die is forced up around the male, causing the hot metal to flow up tighter around the male die, forming a dimple with closer tolerance than that formed with the radius method. 2, record 47, English, - hot%20dimpling

Air for the gas turbine is inducted through a set of electrically controlled air inlet doors located on the lower surface of the APU demountable support box. The air induction system consists of a ram air door, two nonram doors and an electrically driven actuator controlled by a switch located in the flight compartment. Protection against ingestion of foreign objects is provided by a screen attached to the turbine inlet. 4, record 62, English, - ram%20air%20door

The compartment cooling air fan is located on the APU left side just aft of the generator. The fan is driven by the accessory drive and draws air through a flapper valve mounted on the exterior surface of the APU enclosure left side. Cooling air supplied by the fan from the aft accessory compartment is blown into the system through a bifurcated duct attached to the aft side of the fan housing. This duct diverts a portion of air through the oil cooler and allows the remainder to be used for generator and APU compartment cooling. Air for cooling the generator flows through a crossover duct attached to the blast cap on the end of the generator. Air for cooling the compartment is allowed to escape into the area surrounding the APU by means of a slot in the lower surface of the generator crossover duct. 2, record 63, English, - blast%20cap
