AIR DRIVING FORCE [5 records]

Record 1 2023-03-07

English

Subject field(s)
  • Tools and Equipment (Textile Industries)
  • Clothes Cleaning and Dyeing Services
CONT

In the air-jet dyeing machine, the circulating high-speed air is the main driving force for pulling and driving the rope-like fabric. The air circulation system is mainly composed of high-pressure centrifugal fan, air duct, air filter duct and air nozzle system.

Key term(s)
  • air jet dyeing machine

English

Subject field(s)
  • Textile Industries
  • Synthetic Fabrics
  • Technical Textiles
CONT

The cost efficient production of sandwich materials and parts has been the main driving force behind these developments. Textile production technology(i. e. carpet weaving) as well as packaging production processes(i. e. corrugated cardboard or air bubble foil) have been exploited, and adapted for composite sandwich material production.

Domaine(s)
  • Industries du textile
  • Textiles artificiels et synthétiques
  • Textiles techniques
CONT

Record 3 2014-01-21

English

Subject field(s)
  • Braking Systems (Motor Vehicles and Bicycles)
  • Braking Devices (Mechanical Components)
CONT

Disc brakes stay much cleaner than drum brakes. A disc brake is partly shrouded by the wheel, but it is largely exposed to circulating air. Dust and dirt created by pad wear and accumulated through normal driving are thrown off by the centrifugal force of the spinning rotor. Some brake dust accumulates inside the wheel and partially on the caliper. Proper and safe cleaning of brake assemblies and components is as important for disc brakes as for drum brakes.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Freins (Véhicules automobiles et bicyclettes)
  • Freins (Composants mécaniques)
CONT

Subject field(s)
  • Analytical Chemistry

DEF

A dimensionless term which indicates how readily a material can be smelled; it is the ratio of the driving force to introduce the material into the air to the ability of the material to create a recognized response.

  • Chimie analytique
  • Études et analyses environnementales
  • Nez (Médecine)
DEF

English

Subject field(s)
  • Air Pollution
  • Environmental Studies and Analyses
  • Meteorology
CONT

Between the source and sink of a pollutant in the atmosphere dispersion and transport occur simultaneously. Dispersion is caused by turbulent eddies which develop in air that is thermally unstable or that is subjected to a strong wind shear. Transport is controlled by air circulations whose driving force may be local, regional or global in extent.
