Record 2 2014-10-20

English

Subject field(s)
  • Flight Instruments and Equipment (Aeroindustry)
  • Electrical Measuring Equipment
CONT

An ammeter is used to monitor the performance of the airplane electrical system. The ammeter shows if the alternator/generator is producing an adequate supply of electrical power. It also indicates whether or not the battery is receiving an electrical charge.

CONT

Full-scale ammeter discharge or rapid fluctuation of the needle usually means alternator malfunction. If this occurs, you should cut the alternator out of the system and conserve battery power by reducing the load on the electrical system. If in flight you should consider landing as soon as possible.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Instruments et équipement de bord (Constructions aéronautiques)
  • Appareils de mesures (Électricité)
CONT

Record 3 2007-11-23

English

Subject field(s)
  • Aircraft Systems
CONT

Examination of the airplane disclosed that the airplane had sustained extensive fire damage to the floor area beneath the pilot's seat. The examination revealed that a flex hydraulic fluid supply line was missing, and there had been electrical arcing in the immediate vicinity of the hot spot.

PHR

Alternate supply line.

Domaine(s)
  • Circuits des aéronefs
CONT

Subject field(s)
  • Aircraft Systems
CONT

Two single engine second segment climb pressure switches are provided to shut down both air-conditioning systems at any altitude in the event of engine failure, provided the air-conditioning supply switch is in the armed position. Second segment climb/starts at the time the landing gear is fully retracted and continues until the airplane reaches an altitude of at least 400 feet above the runway. The system is normally energized prior to takeoff and deenergized after airplane climb is complete.
