ALTERED METABOLISM [4 records]

Record 1 2016-02-09

English

Subject field(s)
  • Biochemistry
  • Endocrine System and Metabolism
CONT

Altered metabolism is known to be one of the hallmarks of various neurological conditions including neurodegenerative disorders...

French

Domaine(s)
  • Biochimie
  • Systèmes endocrinien et métabolique

Record 2 2015-05-29

English

Subject field(s)
  • Pharmacodynamics
CONT

Sulfonylureas have two significant drug-disease interactions. Most are metabolized in the liver to active or inactive metabolites. When significant impairment in liver function is present, sulfonylurea metabolism may be altered.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Pharmacodynamie
CONT

Record 3 2012-06-08

English

Subject field(s)
  • Microbiology and Parasitology
OBS

These results corroborate previous observations... indicating that the metabolism of anaerobics is often altered during growth as mixed cultures, and coculturing with methanogens may increase [hydrogen] formation by some obligate anaerobes.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Microbiologie et parasitologie
DEF

Culture simultanée de microorganismes.

CONT

Record 4 2003-05-13

English

Subject field(s)
  • Biochemistry
  • Biotechnology
DEF

Isotope that has a higher atomic weight than the usual (i.e. most abundant) natural isotope.

CONT

Studies of metabolism, drug utilization, and other reactions in living organisms are best done with stable isotopes like13C, 15N, 18O, and2H. Compounds are tagged by introducing a high concentration of the isotope into the molecular structure, and the metabolized products are studied using the mass spectrometer to measure the altered isotopic ratios.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Biochimie
  • Biotechnologie
DEF
