The Canadian Association for Laboratory Animal Science(CALAS/ACSAL) is composed of a multidisciplinary group of people and institutions concerned with the care and use of laboratory animals in research, teaching and testing. From coast to coast, membership includes veterinarians, physicians, researchers, administrators, technicians and many others. Founded in 1962, the Canadian Association for Laboratory Animal Science recognizes the laboratory animal as a partner in improving the quality of life for both humans and animals. The Association is dedicated to the elimination of both the inhumane and unnecessary use of animals in research and to the improvement of their standard care.
