CONT

Smart contracts are self-executing contracts with the terms of the agreement between buyer and seller being directly written into lines of code. The code and the agreements contained therein exist across a distributed, decentralized blockchain network. Smart contracts permit trusted transactions and agreements to be carried out among disparate, anonymous parties without the need for a central authority, legal system, or external enforcement mechanism.

CONT

By agreeing to use a smart contract, the participating individuals effectively cede control over an aspect of the performance of a contractual obligation to a digitized process which cannot be reasoned with or influenced.

DEF

Subject field(s)
  • Life Insurance
CONT

What is split dollar life insurance? Exempt life insurance is comprised of an insurance protection component and a tax-deferred investment component. The split dollar concept recognizes that these components can be matched to the parties that require a particular benefit with each party entitled to an interest in the contract. The advantages of sharing the costs and benefits of one life insurance contract over each party owning individual policies are that the parties only purchase the aspect of the policy they want or need, which can result in cost savings and increased rates of return.

  • Assurance sur la vie
CONT
