Full diverters (street closures) are complete closures of the street, either mid-block or at an intersection. They are intended to completely block access from one end of a local street while allowing adequate turnaround for most vehicles. By doing so, it eliminates through traffic, reduces the speed and volume of the remaining vehicles and improves safety for all other street users. 2, record 1, English, - full%20closure

Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 DEF
1, record 1, French, - barri%C3%A8re%20cul%2Dde%2Dsac
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 OBS
2, record 1, French, - barri%C3%A8re%20cul%2Dde%2Dsac

Interaction between charged particles is the key to the electrorheological effect. A particle that has a positively charged pole and a negatively charged pole can either repel or attract another particle polarized in the same manner. When particles are side by side, the repulsion between like poles forces them apart. When particles align vertically, the attraction between unlike poles brings them together.... a polarized particle in the repulsive zone of another particle circles around into the attractive zone. If many polarized particles suspended in a fluid interact in this way, the particles will form chains, and the fluid will exhibit the electrorheological effect; that is, the fluid will thicken or even solidify. 1, record 2, English, - repulsive%20zone

1, record 2, French, - zone%20r%C3%A9pulsive

photo reflex action-humans are involuntarily visually attracted to areas of greatest brightness within the visual field. Studies have shown that attraction to large areas of low brightness can cause long periods of visual detraction, while small areas of high brightness produce a more rapid but nevertheless similarly visually attractive response which detracts from task. Because the visual mechanism responds much more slowly from high adaptation conditions than its converse, one should ensure that the potentially uncomfortable or distracting visual reflex effect actuated by sources of higher than ambient brightness, is accommodated. 1, record 6, English, - photo%20reflex%20action
