A sub-formation of a large formation is called a "piece". Many sequential dives have pieces moving or turning with respect to each other. Piece flying is the result of cooperative efforts from everyone in the piece. Individuals within the piece have specialized flying jobs. These jobs relate to specific piece maneuvers. Successful piece flying is doing your job and letting others do their job. 2, record 1, English, - piece%20flying

Vertical deflection of the muzzle above or below the barrel axis when laid, at the moment the projectile leaves the barrel. When the line of departure of the projectile is above the barrel axis when laid, jump is positive; if below, it is negative. Jump is caused by the vibrations transmitted to the barrel by the passage of the projectile and by the effect of the propellant charge. Not to be confused with climb caused by recoil and which occurs after the projectile has left the barrel. 1, record 4, English, - jump

1, record 4, French, - rel%C3%A8vement

Effect of barrel jump on the line of departure for different bullet velocities. When barrel vibrations are at a positive phase at bullet exit, bullets of lower velocity project at a slightly higher angle, and bullets of higher velocity project at a slightly lower angle, than shots of normal velocity, resulting in a meeting of the trajectories at a certain range. The range at which compensation occurs varies from firearm to firearm. 1, record 7, English, - compensation
