BENDING LEGS [10 records]

Record 1 2023-03-22

English

Subject field(s)
  • Physical Fitness Training and Bodybuilding
DEF

A bodybuilding exercise performed by completing the following movements : using two flat benches set parallel to each other, support your body with your heels on one bench and your hands on the other, in some sort of bridge between the two benches. Keeping the legs straight, lower your body as much as possible, bending only your arms. Raise your body back to the starting position.

OBS

This exercise targets the triceps, the pectorals and, to a lesser extent, the deltoids.

OBS

The terms "bench dip" and "triceps dip" can also refer to this exercise when it is done with only one bench (with the feet resting on the floor). In French, however, the same term can not be used in both cases. Therefore, a different record has been created.

OBS

The term "triceps dip" can also refer to a regular dip performed on parallel bars.

OBS

Cet exercice sollicite les triceps, les pectoraux et, dans une moindre mesure, les deltoïdes.

CONT

The rack deadlift is a partial version of the conventional deadlift. You perform it inside a power rack with pins set so that the bar is located just above the knees. It is an excellent exercise for beginners–you don’t have to use a full ROM [range of movement], and having the rack is like using a spotter. Deadlifts from a racked position emphasize your low back muscles, because you won’t be bending as low and thereby incorporating your legs. Use this exercise to help strengthen the low back specifically or if you want to attempt heavier weights than you can lift from the floor.

CONT

Begin this exercise using a shoulder-width stance with the arms just outside the thighs. Using an overhand grip, bend the knees slightly to grasp the bar. Inhale. Exhale as you pull the weight off the pins, keeping the back flat, the abs tight, the head up, and the weights close to the body. Don’t bounce the bar off the pins in the rack.

The split position places front shin vertical to floor with front foot flat on floor. The rear knee is slightly bent with rear foot positioned on toes. The bar should be positioned directly over ears at arms length with back straight. Push up with both legs. Position feet side by side by bringing front foot back partway and then rear foot forward. Rules for the Clean and Jerk. The first part, the Clean : The bar is placed horizontally in front of the lifter's legs. It is gripped, palms downward and pulled in a single movement from the platform to the shoulders, while either splitting or bending the legs. During this continuous movement, the bar may slide along the thighs and the lap. The bar must not touch the chest before the final position. It then rests on the clavicles or the chest above the nipples or on the arms fully bent. The feet return to the same line, legs straight, before performing the Jerk.

DEF

An active parallel turn done with both legs to allow the skier to ride an edged and tracking ski. Type of turn that offers the easiest way to experience the pure carving action of a ski.

CONT

The basic stance in which railroad turns are done puts both skis on their inside edge. Because your feet are wider than your hips, angulation is "pre-set" on both legs. You can turn on either ski by simply weighing or pressuring it, and bending it into reverse camber. As the ski is on edge when the pressure is applied, it will begin carving.
