BENDING POINT [12 records]

Record 1 2013-06-19

English

Subject field(s)
  • Physical Fitness Training and Bodybuilding
CONT

Knee dips. Stand in front of a mirror on one leg. Point your foot on the supporting leg straightforward. Square up your hips and shoulders to the mirror so you are facing the mirror directly. Look at your kneecap and make sure it is pointed straightforward to the mirror. Avoid leaning into one hip. Imagine you’ve got a string attached to the top of your head and it's pulling your body straight up so your posture is perfect... Slowly lower your body weight down and up only a few inches. Your primary focus during this exercise is to ensure your kneecap doesn’t collapse in towards the midline of your body... You can intensify this exercise by holding free weights or by standing on a step and bending deeper toward the ground.

CONT

With the advent of high performance rotor smoothing systems... the need to "fine-tune" rotor blade trim tabs to within a fraction of a degree has proven to be critical... Our new tab tool kits provide consistent, precise, and reliable tab bends in increments of. 001 in(. 025 mm). These new kits provide innovative features including :[a] dial indicator to provide highly accurate, repeatable adjustments; [a] tab bending tool which allows the user to directly read tab position as bends are made; mechanical provisions that retain the tab measurement tool on the blade and position the tool repeatedly in the proper measurement position; [a] zero reference tool to set the tab measurement tool to the manufacturers’ zero point [and a] protective case for transport and storage. These new tab tools kits are available for use with most helicopter models.

Subject field(s)
  • General Mechanics (Physics)
  • Aircraft Piloting and Navigation
  • Navigation Instruments
  • Flight Instruments and Equipment (Aeroindustry)
OBS

If the centroidal axis is not colinear with the element x-axis, applied axial forces will cause a bending of the element. If the axis through the shear center is not colinear with the element x-axis, applied shear forces will cause torsional rotation of the element. The nodes should therefore be located at the desired point of application of the forces.

Subject field(s)

CONT

Let us now... consider... the symmetrical construction of a typical plywood board. 1.(a) The crossing of the grain of each adjacent veneer gives to plywood the greatest possible strength in both directions. As the number of plies are increased, the mass gains in strength until a 7-ply board, 5/8 in. thick, the resistance to bending is practically equal in both directions of the grain.(b) This cross-grained construction also obviously adds greatly to the resistance to splitting-a point of great value when we consider the placing of nails, screws or bolts close to the edge of the board....
