CONT

Incoherent inelastic scattering. The most interesting component of thermal scattering is called "incoherent inelastic" because the neutron exchanges energy with the target molecule or crystalline lattice and all the scattered waves are assumed to combine incoherently without interference effects. This component is described in terms of a scattering function called "S of alpha and beta, where alpha and beta are reduced values for momentum transfer and energy transfer, respectively...

CONT

... Filter Debris Analysis... Evaluation of filter debris as a diagnostic tool to monitor the condition of fluid systems has gained prominence over the last decade, and techniques such as scanning electron microscope coupled with X-ray emission spectroscopy(SEM/EDX), and X-ray fluorescence(XRF) spectroscopy have been employed to determine the chemical composition of engine lube filter debris, necessary for diagnosis of potential lube system component wear modes, and even some modes of fluid degradation.... The analysis of the chemical composition of filter debris is accomplished via X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy, utilizing the contaminant analyzer, currently in the Beta prototype testing stage.

CONT

The EDXRF Filter Debris Analysis (FDA) method provided 100 or more operating hours of advanced warning of engine failure.

DEF

A high-quality video recording format that separates the luminance (brightness) and chrominance (color) portions of the signal.

CONT

Professional equipment(BetaCAM, Beta SP, D1 and MII) and some consumer equipment(S-VHS and Hi-8) have been designed to record the video components separately. Component video uses several recording methods : standard YUV(Y, R-Y, B-Y) ;RGB(red, green blue) ;and Y/C(luminance and chromiance). The highest quality component video, YUv, divides the signal into three parts : the luminance(Y) ;the red signal minus the luminance(R-Y) ;and the blue signal minus the luminance(B-Y). Using these three signals the green component can be calculated. S-video, or Y/C(used by S-VHS and Hi-8 formats), separates the video signal into two parts : luminance and chrominance.

DEF

[Technique d'enregistrement] vidéo couleur qui utilise trois composantes (Y, Cb, Cr ou RGB).

CONT

CONT

M component : an increased concentration of a structurally homogenous protein in serum or urine appearing as a sharp spike in the beta or gamma globulin region on protein electrophoresis. The protein is in most cases a monoclonal immunoglobulin heavy chain or heavy chain fragment, or a monoclonal immunoglobulin light chain or light chain fragment, either alone or with monoclonal immunoglobulin containing the same light chain.

DEF
