Many former residential school sites in Canada include a cemetery and it has been suggested that a majority may include an unmarked burial site. At this time there is not sufficient information to confirm how many marked or unmarked burial sites exist, however, investigations are ongoing.... The term "unmarked burial" emerged during the TRC [Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada] process to describe the physical sites of former residential schools and where survivors or communities indicated burial sites. It was noted that often there was no formal designation of those sites as cemeteries. 1, record 2, English, - unmarked%20burial

"After the Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc May 31, 2021 press release, news agencies have updated their usage of the term "mass graves" and instead have used "unmarked burials" consistently. 1, record 2, English, - unmarked%20burial

Bronze disease is the irreversible and nearly inexorable corrosion process occurring when chlorides come into contact with bronze or other copper-bearing alloys. It occurs as a dark green or a lighter fuzzy green coating on copper, bronze, and other copper-bearing alloys generally due either to contamination by salt water or after burial in dirt(as chloride salts are generally present in soil to some degree). If not treated, complete destruction of the affected artefact is possible. 2, record 22, French, - sondage
Record number: 22, Textual support number: 2 CONT
4, record 22, French, - sondage

The custom of secondary burial, or ossilegium, predominates throughout the Roman period.

A burial vault is a sealed outer container into which as casket is placed prior to its underground interment or burial in a cemetery. Its use will provide added protection for both the casket and deceased, particularly where there are poor soil conditions and high ground water levels. It will also support the weight of the earth and heavy equipment that may pass over the grave, thus substantially reducing problems at the graveside and, in turn, cemetery costs. 4, record 97, English, - burial%20vault
