In an anchorage where there is little or no current or tidal stream, and in reasonably calm weather, a ship may be pointed to lie at an angle with the line of her cable by putting a spring on her cable. First heave in a shackle or so of cable. Now lead a hawser [...] out through the aftermost quarter fairlead, then for’ard and outboard of all, and shackle it with a joggle shackle to the cable outboard of the hawsepipe, thereby forming a spring. Then belay the hawser and veer the cable, and the ship's head should pay off away from the side on which the spring is rove until pointing in the required direction. Alternatively the hawser may be brought to an after capstan and hove in as the cable is veered. 2, record 1, English, - after%20capstan

The guy derrick is made up of a boom and a mast that are connected at the top by a cable which allows the boom to be raised or lowered. The mast, which is longer than the boom, is held firmly in a vertical position by guys, although the derrick, as a whole, may rotate through a horizontal angle of 360 degrees. The load is applied to the boom by means of another cable, which may be used to raise or lower the load without moving the boom in a vertical plane. This type [of derrick] is used in the erection of large, steel building frames. 5, record 4, English, - guy%20derrick

To perform the cable crossover, begin by grasping one cable, and then carefully walking across the machine to grasp the opposite cable. You should set yourself in the middle of the machine, and ensure that the cables are now meeting at the midline of your body, or with your hands together... To effectively isolate your pectorals(pec minor and upper fibers of pec major) you must set your upper body at an angle of approximately 70-90 degrees with the ground. Begin by allowing your arms to move out and lower the weight. Only lower the weight to a point where your upper arm is horizontal to the ground... Once you have reached this point, return to the starting position with your hands meeting at the midline of the body. 4, record 5, English, - cable%20crossover
