The use of twin-conductor cables(as microphone cables) is referred to as balanced line working, to distinguish it from the single-core screened cable which uses the screen as the return wire of the circuit and is called unbalanced.... Two redundant cable reels support the Mobile Transporter and Mobile Base System, a movable platform that allows the station's robotic arm to move back and forth along the truss during construction and maintenance work. The Trailing Umbilical System 2 cable appears to have been cut by the system designed to sever it if it ever became snarled or tangled. Video down linked from station cameras confirmed the cable was cut. The Trailing Umbilical System 1 was not affected. The inadvertent severing of the cable tripped one of two redundant circuit breakers on the S0 Truss, which provides power to the Mobile Transporter. The transporter is not scheduled to be used in the near future, but the severed Trailing Umbilical System 2 cable can be replaced through a spacewalk to provide the required redundancy. 3, record 6, English, - trailing%20umbilical%20system

Because the O2 sensor must be pre-heated to function, many newer units contain a little 12 volt heater that brings it up to temperature sooner, offering better fuel economy and driveability earlier. These sensors can be identified by the number of wires coming out of the unit. Just one wire means you don’t have a heater. Those that have three wires use one for the signal, and two for the heater circuit. Those that have four wires use one for the signal, one for the signal' s ground, and two for the heater. In this case usually the signal wire is shielded against interference, much like common television coaxial cable. 4, record 8, English, - heated%20exhaust%20gas%20oxygen%20sensor
Record number: 8, Textual support number: 2 OBS
Most engines with a turbo use sensors with heaters because the turbo steals so much of the superheat energy as it uses it to pump additional air in the intake. Without the heater, the sensor should not get hot enough to give good readings, especially when the turbo is being used. The Suzuki 1.0 liter engines unfortunately do not employ a lambda sensor with a heater. 4, record 8, English, - heated%20exhaust%20gas%20oxygen%20sensor

3, record 8, French, - sonde%20d%27oxyg%C3%A8ne%20chauffante

Parallel Circuits-A parallel circuit is one in which the electric detonators are connected to two common points. Each detonator in a connexion of this kind offers a path for the electric current independent of all the other detonators in the circuit, and therefore calls for a higher amperage requirement than a series circuit in which there is but one path.... A parallel circuit is characterized by comparatively low voltage and high amperage requirements, and because of this it is advisable to use a heavier shot-firing cable. The disadvantage is that it is not possible to test the circuit as a whole by means of a circuit tester. 2, record 14, English, - parallel%20circuit
