Spherical tensegrity robots... are lightweight soft robots that are comprised of an elastic tension network that suspends and connects isolated rigid rods. A six-bar spherical tensegrity 400... has six rigid rods 401-406 held together by 24 series-elastic cables 410. Each rod is 60 cm in length. This spherical tensegrity robot 400 locomotes through shape-shifting by controlling individual cable tensions. Notably, the structural properties of compliant and low-weight tensegrities have proven to be advantageous in applications that involve high-impact loads and co-robotic cooperation with humans; potential applications for these tensegrity robots include space surface exploration rovers... and disaster response robotics. However, the performance and energy efficiencies of spherical tensegrity robots have yet to be evaluated for practical use cases in realistic scenarios. 1, record 1, English, - spherical%20tensegrity%20robot

A leaky feeder cable also know as a "radiating cable" is an alternative to a traditional network of RF [radio frequency] antennas. Comparatively, a normal feeder cable is what is used to connect a repeater to an antenna and is designed to trap a signal within the cable and inhibit any other interfering signals penetrating the cable. In contrast, a leaky feeder cable is specially designed to "leak" signal out of the cable in a controlled manner. Simultaneously, the leaky feeder cable will allow a controlled amount of signal to penetrate the length of the cable. 4, record 2, English, - leaky%20feeder%20cable

The left rudder would operate normally since the RH [right-hand] nosewheel steering tube assembly could still operate in the compression mode. Furthermore, in this condition, the automatic centring action of the nose gear as the aircraft lifted off would have resulted in the application of two to four degrees of left rudder deflection. This is due to the left-hand rudder centring spring taking up the slack introduced in the right-hand rudder cable by the right-hand rudder pedal being moved aft of its normal position due to the shortened length of the RH nosewheel steering tube assembly. 2, record 20, English, - centering%20spring

2, record 20, French, - ressort%20de%20centrage

One of the more advanced concepts is the laser/fiber-optics gyro. For this gyro a fiber-optics cable up to 300(100 m) in length is coiled many times around a loop, with both ends brought out to a laser. The laser beam is split into two beams, with the beams directed into the opposite ends of the coiled fiber-optics cable. Upon emerging from the opposite ends, they are recombined at the beam splitter to form interference fringes. Unlike the laser gyro, the coiled fiber is not a part of the resonant cavity and hence does not exhibit the lock-in phenomena; however, a rotation rate causes only a fringe displacement and not an integrating effect as in the laser gyro. The instrument is therefore a rate gyro and not a rate-integrating gyro. 1, record 28, English, - coiled%20fiber
