The Gelderland, also known as the Gelderlander, is a warmblood horse which originated in the sandy, mid-eastern province of the same name in the Netherlands. Gelderland horses trace their ancestry to native mares of the Gelderland province who where crossed with Andalusian, Neapolitan, Norman, Norfolk Roadster and Holstein stallions. In the nineteenth century East Friesian, Oldenburg, Hackney and Thoroughbred blood was introduced. Gelderlanders were originally bred as utility horses, to work the land as well as provide transportation. Today, the Gelderland is an elegant carriage horse and also possesses talent as a show jumper. Its action is flowing and the breed has an effective high-stepping trot. 2, record 13, English, - Gelderland%20horse

Gelderland [...] 1, record 13, Spanish, - Gelderland

Traditionally, shipowners were content to carry the cargo from port to port and they limited their responsibility for the cargo to the time when the goods were on board the ship. Mainly because of containerization, many shipowners have now extended their services to include also carriage over land and even carriage by air. Such a combination of modes of transport qualify vessel operating companies as MTOs [multimodal transport operator]. Usually, they will not own or operate means of transport by road, rail or air, but arrange for these types of transport by sub-contracting with such unimodal carriers. Additionally, they would usually sub-contract inland stevedoring and warehousing services. 1, record 15, English, - vessel%2Doperating%20multimodal%20transport%20operator

1, record 15, French, - entrepreneur%20de%20transport%20multimodal%20exploitant%20des%20navires

South Pointing Carriage is the earliest known example of a land vehicle navigation system.... historical research has only recently established that [it] had nothing to do with magnetism, [but] was based on the principle(now called "the differential odometer") that for a given change in vehicle heading, a vehicle's outer wheels travel a mathematically predictable distance farther than the inner wheels. When changing heading, a gear train driven by an... outer wheel automatically engaged and rotated a horizontal turntable to exactly offset the change in heading... a figure with an outstretched arm mounted on the turntable always pointed in the original direction.... 1, record 17, English, - South%20Pointing%20Carriage
