the Andean Pact was established by the Cartagena Agreement(officially, the Andean Sub-Regional Integration Agreement) in 1969 between Colombia, Peru, Bolivia and Ecuador, joined by Venezuela in 1974. The Agreement anticipated the establishment of common policies on agricultural development, economic policy and development, industrial programming, and tariffs. In particular, a common intellectual property law was established for all the member countries.

Le Pacte andin a été établi par l'Accord de Carthagène (officiellement l'Accord andin d'intégration sous-régionale) conclu en 1969 par la Colombie, le Pérou, la Bolivie et l'Équateur, auxquels s'est joint le Venezuela en 1974. L'Accord prévoyait l'élaboration de politiques communes sur le développement agricole, la politique et le développement économiques, la planification industrielle et les tarifs. En particulier, des règles de droit uniques en matière de propriété intellectuelle ont été créées à l'intention de tous les pays membres.
