Chamber having thin grooves cut longitudinally through most of its length and beyond the mouth of the cartridge case, e. g. French FAMAS rifle. 1, record 1, English, - fluted%20chamber
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 OBS
On firing, some gases flow back in the grooves and equalize the pressure inside and outside of the case, thus easing extraction in a blowback or delayed blowback weapon. The grooves do not extend to the face of the chamber, so obturation is not impaired. 1, record 1, English, - fluted%20chamber

Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 DEF
1, record 1, French, - chambre%20cannel%C3%A9e
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 OBS
1, record 1, French, - chambre%20cannel%C3%A9e
