The Latvian Arts and Crafts Association in Canada was established in 1953 as a means of drawing together the many Latvian artisans living in the Toronto area. Their skills currently include weaving, embroidery, knitting, spinning, felting, quilting, jewellery making, wood carving, traditional straw work, pottery and stained glass making. The artwork focuses and builds upon the cultural and ethnographic heritage of Latvian art, techniques and symbols.
