A vertical needle incorporated into an OMNI [omnidirectional]/ILS [instrument landing system] indicator to show deviation from the selected VOR [very high frequency omni-directional range] course or radial.

The course deviation indicator will remain centered as long as the airplane is actually on the radial indicated on the bearing selector. If the airplane is off course to the right of the radial, the CDI will swing to the left of centre. If the airplane is off course to the left of the radial, the CDI will swing to the right of centre. In other words, the CDI points in the direction in which the radial lies.

At the 1990 United Nations World Summit for Children, the leaders of 71 countries made a commitment to invest in the well-being of vulnerable children. The Government of Canada responded with the Child Development Initiative(CDI). CAPC(Community Action Program for Children) is the largest programme of this initiative. CAPC provides long term funding to community coalitions to deliver programs that address the health and development of children(0-6 years) who are living in conditions of risk. It recognizes that communities have the ability to identify and respond to the needs of children and places a strong emphasis on partnerships and community capacity building.

Polyuria is the excretion of dilute urine in excess of 3 liters per 24 hours, and results from one of three fundamental pathophysiologic mechanisms. The first is a deficiency, usually partial, of osmotically regulated vasopressin(antidiuretic hormone) secretion and is termed "cranial diabetes insipidus"(CDI), otherwise known as central, hypothalamic, or neurogenic diabetes insipidus.
