proto-oncogene : a normal cellular gene that with alteration, such as by mutation, DNA rearrangement, or nearby insertion of viral DNA, becomes an active oncogene; most proto-oncogenes are believed to normally function in cell growth and differentiation. 1, record 1, English, - cellular%20oncogene

1, record 1, French, - oncog%C3%A8ne%20cellulaire

Tyrosine kinase oncogenes and growth-regulatory signal transduction. Research in our laboratory is focused on the molecular mechanisms regulating cellular growth and differentiation in both normal and tumor cells. Using hematopoietic differentiation and fibroblast transformation as model systems, we are investigating the roles of non-receptor protein-tyrosine kinases and small G-proteins in these processes. Tyrosine kinase activity is associated with many proteins involved in growth-regulatory signal transduction, including growth hormone receptors and transforming oncogene products. 1, record 2, English, - small%20G%2DProtein

1, record 2, French, - petite%20prot%C3%A9ine%20G
