Each NASA ISPR provides 1. 6 m³(55. 5ft³) of internal volume. The rack weighs 104 kg(230 lbm) and can accommodate an additional 700 kg(1543 lbm) of payload equipment. The rack has internal mounting provisions to allow attachment of secondary structure. The ISPRs will be outfitted with a thin center post to accommodate sub-rack-sized payloads, such as the 48. 3 cm(19 in) Spacelab Standard Interface Rack(SIR) Drawer or the Space Shuttle Middeck Locker. Utility pass-through ports are located on each side to allow cables to be run between racks. Module attachment points are provided at the top of the rack, and via pivot points at the bottom of the rack. The pivot points support installation and maintenance. Tracks on the exterior front posts allow mounting of payload equipment and laptop computers. Center-bearing swing bridge. While swinging, this type of swing bridge is carried entirely on the center pivot; the trailing or balance wheels, which rol1 on a track near the outer edge of the pier, are adjusted with a little clearance so that their only function is to insure lateral stability. When the bridge is closed, the ends are lifted and on the pivot pier independent supports are inserted without lifting so as to carry the live load only. The center supports and end lifts should work simultaneously and be so adjusted that, when the center supports just come to a bearing(with no reaction from the dead load), the ends are lifted to their proper level. 2, record 8, English, - center%2Dbearing%20swing%20bridge

One of three kinds of rim or caliper brakes whose action originates above the center of the wheel, using two pivot points, one for each caliper arm. They are activated by means of a brake cable connected at one end to the brake lever mounted on the handlebar and at the other end to a cable anchor. From the cable anchor a transverse cable runs to both sides of the brake assembly and attaches to the caliper arms. When the brake lever is squeezed, the cable retracts, lifting the cable anchor and causing both calipers to press rubber blocks against the wheel rim simultaneously, stopping the bicycle through pressure and friction. 2, record 10, English, - centerpull%20brakes
