If you want to use a nanny but don’t think you can afford the expense, consider sharing a nanny, an increasingly popular childcare solution for many... families. It enables two families to use one nanny and share the costs of employing the nanny between them. … If you want or need a more flexible arrangement than day care can offer, sharing a nanny may work well for you. With a day care or babysitter, you must drop your child off and pick [her/him] up by a certain time... and you can’t leave [her/him] if [she/he] is sick. Grapes begin their growth cycle in the spring when average daily temperature is about 10 °C(50 °F). To reach maturity, they require a certain amount of heat above 10 °C during the growing season. This amount of heat, called the heat summation, is calculated by totalling the number of degrees of average daily temperature over 10 °C for each day of the growing season. A heat summation of about 1, 800 is required for successful growth. If the heat summation is less than required, the grapes will not ripen; they will reach the end of the growing season with insufficient sugar and too much acidity.... Where the heat summation is much greater than required,... the grapes mature earlier and with less acidity and colour than those produced under cooler conditions. Factors influencing the heat summation of a vineyard and, therefore, grape composition include exposure... air drainage..., soil temperature(above 10 °C during the growing season), and soil moisture content... 3, record 7, English, - heat%20summation

horaire forfaitaire : terme à éviter. Ce terme provient sans doute d'une analogie avec le «travail à forfait» pour lequel on parle d'horaire libre. Sags/Brownouts... Short term decreases in voltage levels. This is the most common power problem, accounting for 87 percent of all power disturbances according to a study by Bell Labs.... Typically, sags are caused by the start-up power demands of many electrical devices(including motors, compressors, elevators, shop tools, other office equipment, etc.). Utilities also create sags as a means of coping with extraordinary power demands, like high air conditioner use on a steamy summer's day. In a procedure known as "rolling brownouts, "the utility will systematically lower voltage levels in certain areas for hours or days at a time. 1, record 18, English, - rolling%20brownouts

In an effort to lose weight, some people will try anything, including ill-advised weight loss methods like crash dieting. A crash diet is a diet that severely restricts caloric intake. In fact, these diets often restrict caloric intake so much that the dieter is bordering on starvation. In return for practically starving themselves, dieters are promised dramatic weight loss in just days or weeks. For example, a crash diet may offer dieters the chance to lose 10 to 20 pounds in just five to seven days and even more in the weeks to come. 2, record 19, English, - crash%20diet

There's a lot to worry about with crash dieting, as it deprives a person of the nutrients and calories they need for optimum health and survival. Many people think of calories negatively, but a person actually needs a certain number of calories to maintain basic bodily functions, such as breathing. When a person consumes too few calories because of a crash diet, they may actually put their health at serious risk. Many crash diets require a person to consume less than 1200 calories per day, and some even go as low as 700 or 800 calories daily. For the average person, this is simply too few calories. 2, record 19, English, - crash%20diet

Carbon dioxide(CO2) is a normal component of the Earth's atmosphere. [It] allows short wavelength solar radiation to pass through the atmosphere and heat the Earth.... CO2 is an integral part of the plant photosynthesis process. Plants absorb CO2 during the day as they generate energy, and they give off CO2 at night as they respire or use energy. A certain proportion of the CO2 is used to build new organic tissue so that there is a net negative flux of CO2 between plants and the atmosphere. This is later balanced after plants die and their organic material is decomposed. 1, record 30, English, - net%20negative%20flux

Photoperiodism is the use of the change in day and night length to time certain physiological and behavioural functions. I am interested in how temperate birds use the change in day length to time reproduction. Most birds do not have their gonads all year round. They regenerate their sexual organs to coincide with the breeding season. Day and night length is not the only environmental cue that they can use to help them time reproduction correctly. For example some birds use temperature and rainfall. 4, record 31, English, - photoperiodism

2, record 34, French, - m%C3%A9tabolisme%20acide%20des%20crassulac%C3%A9es

The description of wind speeds is an example of the use of the Weibull distribution to describe natural phenomena. Each part of the planet has it's own parameters for a Weibull distribution to describe the wind speed pattern in that place. On the basis of that you can calculate the number of days a year, or hours a day, with wind speeds above a certain force, or the mean wind speed, or the median wind speed, halve the days in a year have a wind speed below the median force, halve the days above. The Weibull distribution is very practical in this area because the distribution doesn’t allow for negative value's and it is easy to appropriately consider the fact that on most days there will be a bit of wind, on some days a lot and you have those days that there is way too much wind speed. 3, record 35, English, - median%20wind%20speed

Deferred signature. It is more and more common, in the case of multilateral agreements, for the plenipotentiaries to sign the approved text separately.
