2, record 5, French, - animal%20fondateur

A specialized machine called a ladder trencher, or ditcher, is effective for opening trenches for utility lines, telephone cables, drainage and sewer lines, and the like. It consists of two main components : a crawler, or rubber-tired carrier, and a digging mechanism. Depending on the soil condition and the depth of the trench to be excavated, the trencher can move at a speed of up to 2 miles(3. 2 kilometers) per hour. It has a long boom, and an endless chain rotates along the boom. Buckets or clamshells attached to this chain dig at the bottom of the trench, bring up excavated material, and unload it onto a conveyer while the machine moves slowly along. The width of the excavated trench ranges between 18 and 60 inches(46 and 152 centimeters). Ladder trencher can be used for digging depths of up to 20 feet(6 meters). 2, record 7, English, - ladder%20ditcher

Chain dimensioning also known as point-to-point dimensioning, is a method of dimensioning from one feature to the next. Each dimension is dependent upon the previous dimension or dimensions. This is a common practice, although caution should be used as the tolerance of each dimension builds on the next, which is known as tolerance buildup, or stacking. 3, record 10, English, - chain%20dimensioning
Record number: 10, Textual support number: 2 CONT
Two plans of dimensioning are used on mechanical drawings.... One is called point-to-point or chain dimensioning; each length is dimensioned from the end of the preceding one. These dimensions are usually taken directly from the designer's sketch; however tolerances are cumulative and, rather than averaging out, usually add or subtract so that intermediate clearances may be disturbed. In the other plan, called datum dimensioning..., all dimension lines in each direction extend from a datum or reference line or plane which is usually the first machined surface. 4, record 10, English, - chain%20dimensioning
