Molecular karyohypses for eight-strains of four Chlorella species were obtained by using an alternating-field gel elechrophoresis system which employs contour-clamped homogeneous electric field(CHEF). The number and pattern of the chromosomal DNA molecules varied greatly from strain to strain.
