This one-day workshop for managers and employees of Public Works and Government Services Canada assists them to understand how they are personally responding to change; gives them a greater understanding of the change process; and helps them move toward empowerment by breaking organizational co-dependency. This means helping employees discover who they are now, if they are not defined by their jobs; understand what is important to them(core values) ;define where they want to be(visioning) ;and define how they are going to get where they want to go and what they need to get there(goal setting, skill development and enhancement). The French term "facilitateur", which implies a positive form of help or support, would be inappropriate for cases of alcoholism, unless used facetiously or ironically.
